General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

1 Booking/Reservation

1.1 The booking/reservation of a guided tour/wine tasting must be made in writing (email or letter) and will also be confirmed in writing by Staatlicher Hofkeller Würzburg.

1.2 By booking the event, the client confirms the applicable billing address. The invoice shall be issued in writing following the event. The invoice amount is due immediately without deduction. A subsequent correction of the invoice address is subject to a charge (€ 10).

2 Number of Participants/Minimum Turnover

2.1 The Staatlicher Hofkeller Würzburg will conduct a wine tour/wine tasting as a group event with a minimum of 10 paying participants. 

2.2 We initially charge for the respective wine tastings on the basis of the minimum gross-sales (excluding food) published in our price list. If the minimum gross-sales is reached, billing will be based on the number of persons reported in advance or the actual number of persons and the agreed-upon wine tasting price. Please inform us of the exact number of persons 4 working days before the agreed-upon date of the event. This is binding as the minimum number of participants on which the invoice is based.

3 End of event

3.1 The wine tastings are strictly limited in terms of time and end after the last wine has been served.  An extension can only be agreed upon in advance when booking the wine tasting (up to a maximum of 24.00 hours). The previously agreed extension hours are subject to a charge.

4 Prices

4.1 The prices in the current list and our calendar of events are valid.

4.2 In case of cancellation of the guided tour/wine tasting we charge as follows:
From 60 to 15 days before the event, 50% of the confirmation amount. From 14 to 5 days before the event, 75% of the confirmation amount. 4 days before the event, 90% of the confirmation amount. Cancellation must be made in writing.

4.3 An employee of Staatlicher Hofkeller will wait up to 30 minutes at the agreed meeting point. As a rule, this is the Frankonia Fountain (Residenzplatz). If guests are late, there is no entitlement to an extension of the tour/wine tasting or reduction of the price.

4.4 All published prices include the statutory value-added tax.

5 Liability

5.1 Please note that guided tours and wine tastings in the Staatlicher Hofkeller Würzburg (Residenzweinkeller) are conducted in unheated cellar rooms and that the historic Residenzweinkeller is only accessible via stairs.

5.2 The client is liable for all damage caused to the property or inventory of the Staatlicher Hofkeller Würzburg by his or her guests or third parties acting on his or her behalf.

5.3 We are a food processing company and are certified according to ISO 9001/14001/22000 and BS 18001. We would like to point out that no animals are allowed on our premises. Smoking is not permitted. During the guided tour/wine tasting, for ISO reasons, the instructions of the supervisor and staff must be followed. Failure to do so will result in the tour/event being cancelled.

5.4 Catering shall be provided exclusively by external establishments on behalf of the client. The companies commissioned are themselves responsible for compliance with the applicable hygiene and food regulations.
